The Peer Recovery Mentor provides support to PFTP-CM families through loved experience and will encourage client engagement/retention in project; will utilize Motivational Interviewing and provide group support as needed. The incumbent will provide recovery-focused case management and rehabilitation support to grant families living with substance use concerns, mental/emotional disorders and environmental stressors. He/She will provide peer support and recovery-focused case assistance while serving as an advocate to provide information for families in emergency, outpatient and/or inpatient settings. The Peer Recovery Mentor will promote positive social support networks and aid with access to community meetings, appointments and/or agencies and attend these meetings with the grant clients to help advocate for the progress and recovery.
Requirements: High School/GED.
Acquire and/or maintain Substance Abuse Credentials (CRPR minimum) at the highest level allowed by the Missouri Credentialing Board.
Peer Recovery Mentor must have at least 2 years of sustained sobriety and a positive relationship with the recovery community.
Individuals with lived experience dealing with substance use issues or relevant issues are strongly encouraged.
